Best Skydiving Boogies

Let’s get jiggy with it! What is a boogie in skydiving, and do they live up to all the buzz? It would be nearly impossible to overhype partying and skydiving with your best friends, so yeah, skydiving boogies live up to it. They are full of camaraderie, and fun, and bring all sorts of people who love skydiving to one dropzone.

They’re the perfect place to advance your skills, network with fellow jumpers, and provide a much-needed break from your day-to-day. Traveling to a skydiving boogie is non-negotiable, and we’re here to give you the low down on some of the best boogies the skydiving world has to offer.

What Is A Skydiving Boogie?

Boogies are skydiving events where jumpers from all over come together to party in the skies, on the ground, and generally just have a good ol’ time! Boogies are often accompanied by fundraisers for charities, skills camps, experienced organizers, and special themes. Who can go to a boogie? Anyone can come to watch! By and large, any level jumper can participate in a boogie, although some are more niche and geared towards advanced disciplines.

If you want to combine the thrill of freefall with an awesome communal atmosphere (okay, yes … this is every day at the dropzone, but it’s vamped up during boogies), then attending a boogie is a MUST! Here’s a roundup of the best skydiving boogies in the US – you won’t want to miss this.

CarolinaFest: Skydive Carolina, SC

Skydive Carolina’s, CarolinaFest, takes place annually at the very end of May/early June. Between 2009 and 2019, CarolinaFest was one of the most anticipated boogies of the year. And then, womp, womp: COVID. But as of 2024, the best boogie in the South is back, baby! CarolinaFest has everything a good festival does – swag, night-long activities, free beer, music, camping, excellent load organizers, sick aircraft, and (of course) SKYDIVING!

Psst! An organizer in skydiving is someone who is advanced in a specific discipline, has a passion for the sport, and a strong desire to teach others. These people are hand-picked to attend events and are a huge incentive for people to attend.

Party in Perridise – Christmas Boogie: Skydive Perris, CA

Who needs jingle bells and Santa’s sleigh to have a cheery time when you have multiple aircraft (including a JET), sweet West Coast sunshine, and accomplished jumpers? There’s no better way to bid farewell to the holiday season than skydiving at the Skydive Perris Christmas Boogie! Skydive Perris is known for being an exceptional dropzone and teaches both beginners and world-class skydivers. They even have an on-site wind tunnel, just in case the weather gods aren’t in favor of boogie-ing!

Invasion Boogie: Skydive Sebastian, FL

The Invasion Boogie takes place annually and offers the best vibes in South Florida. The 2025 theme for Invasion is heroes VS villains, which will prompt all sorts of costumes and fun jumps – mid-air sword fight anyone!? Sebastian is in a prime location, making the crystalline waters of the Atlantic the backdrop of every skydive. Invasion happens in late December into early January, meaning it’s the ultimate NYE party.

4th of July Boogie: Skydive Cross Keys, NJ

Along with being the happiest dropzone in the North East, Skydive Cross Keys is known for hosting some of the best boogies on the East Coast, and the 4th of July Boogie is no exception. It’s common for this boogie to have specialty aircraft and a huge American flag painted in the landing area, making it impossible to miss. Skydive Cross Keys has a fantastic setup with an outdoor kitchen, fire pit, and porch for viewing jumpers all day long.

Summerfest: Skydive Chicago, IL

Most boogies last a weekend, with the occasional extra Friday or Monday thrown into the mix, but Summerfest is an exception and is over a WEEK long. Skydive Chicago wins “best host” for accommodating hundreds of jumpers of all skill levels and disciplines for such a long time. They boast talented videographers to capture the magic of the boogie, killer night parties with DJ’s, a massive pond for swimming, and incredible organizers. Skydive Chicago is the place to be in late July.

ShredFest: Cleveland Skydiving Center, OH

Cleveland Skydiving Center hosts ShredFest on an annual basis. ShredFest is a boogie that doubles as an advanced XRW and CRW camp. This event brings together people who seem like polar opposites – CRW dawgs and XRW shredders – and gives them the chance to learn from one another and pull off some pretty sick jumps while they’re at it.

Where else are old-school CRW jumpers shredding the skies with wingsuiters and those ripping on sub-100 canopies? The extended weekend calls for extra aircraft, cookouts, bonfires, and record-breaking jumps. ShredFest Vol. 6 will happen in August of 2025!

Big O Boogie: Skydive Orange, VA

The Big O Boogie is one for the books! You can jump to your heart’s content all day and indulge in fun and shenanigans after the sun goes down, including large get-togethers with music, costume contests, and lots of dancing. Skydives offer views of local wineries and the Shenandoah Valley, which means there’s tons to do off the DZ too. The 2025 Big O will take place over Labor Day weekend.

Chicks Rock: Skydive Elsinore, CA

Let’s pop back over to the West Coast for the Chicks Rock Boogie. This event happens every year in October and has organizers come in from all over the country. Chicks Rock offers some of the best organizing, from wingsuit and movement jumps to large formation skydives. They do a fabulous job at being all-inclusive for every skill level!

Are There International Skydiving Boogies?

Boogies across the pond are just as prevalent as they are in the States! Getting a group together for a Tsunami Skydivers Exotic Boogies adventure over the Blue Hole or Costa Rica would be a core memory. Or, traveling to Europe for Vector Festival and getting training from some of the best in the industry is unbeatable.

How can you keep track of all these boogies? There are so many! A great resource to stay in the know is the USPA Parachutist Magazine, which has event calendars published near the back of every month’s issue.
